Field service dispatch software with live GPS
Dispatch is the day’s argument between the board, the map, and the person who has to do the job. The software should show all three from the same work, not from a second product.
What dispatch has to show
A field-service company needs a board of work, a schedule, and a way for the technician to see their own day. Service Arc includes a dispatch board, scheduling, a calendar, and a technician My Day view. Those are operating tools. They are not a promise that the route is optimal.
GPS is for the day, not a separate fleet bill
The live GPS map is there so dispatch can see where people are while the work is in motion: closest-technician context, geofence events, and breadcrumb trails. On Android, technicians can update jobs, add photos and signatures, record GPS mileage, and keep working in Offline Field Mode. The map is part of Service Arc on every plan. It is not unlocked as a fleet add-on.
The same record as the rest of the job
Dispatch only helps if it is attached to the customer, the work order or locate ticket, and the invoice. Service Arc keeps customers, estimates, invoices, Stripe payments, a customer portal, and QuickBooks Online sync in the same platform as the board. Workflow notifications follow the job as it moves, so the office is not retyping status into a chat thread.
Closest-technician routing is a suggestion from the map and the open work. A dispatcher still assigns the job. The software does not replace that decision.
